Arsenal Edge Palace to Reach Historic 700th Win

In the 39th minute, Declan Rice delivered a precise lofted free kick, which was headed back across the goal by Gabriel from the right side of the box. Eberechi Eze, facing his former club, calmly slotted the ball home to give Arsenal a 1–0 lead.

Notably, this was Eze’s first goal for Arsenal, and he chose not to celebrate against his former team. The strike also marked Arsenal’s 11th set-piece goal of the season, the highest in the league so far.

Just one minute into the second half, William Saliba picked up an injury and was replaced by Mosquera. Arsenal held their lead until the final whistle, claiming their 700th Premier League victory and staying at the top of the table with 22 points. Palace remain 10th with 13 points.

This win makes Arsenal only the second team in Premier League history to reach 700 wins, behind Manchester United (760). Liverpool leads with 682 wins, followed by Chelsea with 671, while Spurs and City share fifth with 555 each.

Late in the match, Erling Haaland tapped in from Marmoush’s right-wing cross, but the goal was disallowed for offside. To make matters worse, Haaland collided with the post during the play and appeared in pain.

The disallowed goal also ended his remarkable streak of scoring in 12 consecutive matches for club and country.

City now sit fifth with 16 points, level with Manchester United but ahead on goal difference. United are sixth.
