Leicester City returns to the Premier League after a year!

In the 45th round of the Championship, Leeds United suffered a shocking 0-4 defeat to relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers.

Following this unexpected loss, Leeds United remained in second place on the table with 90 points, but they were only four points ahead of Leicester City, who had played one game less. Ipswich Town, having played two games fewer, trailed Leeds United by just one point.

This meant that with only one round of matches remaining, Leeds United could not surpass Leicester City, allowing the Foxes to secure a promotion spot to the Premier League two rounds early.

According to regulations, the top two teams in the Championship table gain automatic promotion to the Premier League, while teams ranked third to sixth participate in the promotion playoffs.
