Arsenal are considering signing Takefusa Kubo in the winter transfer window!

According to Japanese football blogger Marco Molla, Premier League giants Arsenal are actively considering a move for Japan international Takefusa Kubo in the winter transfer window to bolster their attacking options. With Arsenal competing on multiple fronts, including the Premier League and Champions League, the club’s management views Kubo as a technically gifted player capable of providing additional creativity and depth to their squad.

Kubo’s versatility, quick footwork, and ability to operate across multiple attacking positions have made him an appealing target for Mikel Arteta’s tactical system. Reports indicate that Arsenal scouts have been closely monitoring his performances, and initial internal discussions have already occurred regarding a potential bid.

Arsenal is interested in Takefusa Kubo.

The blogger states that Arsenal are looking into signing the Real Sociedad forward. Kubo knows their interest and is open to possibly joining the Premier League.

Kubo previously played for Real Madrid but struggled for playing time and was loaned out to other clubs.

Currently, Kubo is with Real Sociedad, having played 23 matches for the team this season, contributing 4 goals and 2 assists.

One of Real Sociedad’s key players

In February last year, Kubo signed a contract extension with Real Sociedad until 2029.

According to previous data from Transfermarkt, Kubo’s current market value is €40 million, ranking third among Asian players, just behind Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma (€45 million) and Bayern’s Kim Min-jae (€45 million).

Will Arsenal Make a Move for Kubo?

With Arsenal actively scouting attacking reinforcements, Kubo’s technical ability and versatility make him a strong candidate for Mikel Arteta’s system. However, since Real Sociedad recently extended his contract until 2029, securing his transfer in January could prove challenging. If Arsenal pursues, they may need to meet Sociedad’s valuation or explore alternative negotiation strategies to bring the Japanese star to the Emirates.
