In Round 12 of the 2025 La Liga season, Celta Vigo hosted Barcelona at the Balaídos Municipal Stadium.
After a fierce contest filled with goals and drama, Barcelona ultimately secured a 4–2 victory thanks to a stunning hat-trick from Robert Lewandowski, claiming their third consecutive league win.
Celta Miss Early Chance, Barça Strike First from the Spot
Just four minutes into the match, Celta’s Duran broke through on goal but saw his chip shot cleared off the line by Barça defender Alejandro Baldé. The assistant referee then raised his flag for offside, denying the hosts a dream start.
In the 10th minute, Barcelona were awarded a penalty after Marcos Alonso handled the ball inside the box. Lewandowski stepped up calmly and converted from the spot, giving the visitors a 1–0 lead.

End-to-End Action: Both Sides Trade Goals
Barely two minutes later, Celta hit back. In the 12th minute, Carrera timed his run perfectly to beat the offside trap and slotted home to make it 1–1.
The game continued at a relentless pace. In the 38th minute, Marcus Rashford delivered a precise cross from the left, and Lewandowski pounced again to restore Barça’s lead at 2–1.
However, that advantage didn’t last long. In the 43rd minute, Celta equalised once more through Iglesias, who finished from a Jutglà assist. The first half was tied 2–2 in a thrilling exchange.

Yamal’s Crucial Goal Puts Barça Ahead Before the Break
In first-half stoppage time, Rashford whipped in a low cross from the left. After a deflection off a defender, the ball fell perfectly for teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who fired it home to make it 3–2 for Barcelona at halftime.
At this stage, Barça were dominating the attacking stats with 14 shots to Celta’s 4, though the home side had been remarkably efficient, scoring twice from just three shots on target.
Lewandowski’s Header Seals the Victory
The second half began at a slower tempo as both teams tightened up defensively. In the 73rd minute, Barcelona earned a corner on the left.
Rashford once again provided the assist, delivering a pinpoint cross that Lewandowski met with a towering header to complete his hat-trick. That goal put the result beyond doubt, as Barça took a commanding 4–2 lead.

Barça Keep Pressure on Real Madrid, Lewandowski Shines Bright
With this victory, Barcelona climbed to 28 points, remaining second in the table, just three points behind leaders Real Madrid. Celta, meanwhile, sit in 13th place with 13 points.
Lewandowski’s brilliant performance reaffirmed his status as one of La Liga’s most lethal and consistent strikers.
