According to reports, FIFA has recently made a major adjustment to ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup final. The best available seats for the final have reportedly been raised to three times their original price, with a single ticket costing up to $32,970.
This price increase mainly applies to the World Cup final scheduled for July 19. FIFA has classified these high-priced tickets as “Category 1 Preferred” seats.
The original $10,990 Category 1 price is now mainly applied to wheelchair and accessible seating areas, meaning ordinary spectators can no longer purchase the best viewing positions at the previous price.
Knockout Stage Ticket Prices Rise Across the Board
Ticket prices for this World Cup are already high overall, but the increase becomes even more obvious during the knockout stages.
The highest ticket prices for both semi-finals have exceeded $10,000. The semi-final scheduled for July 14 in Texas has a top ticket price of $11,130, while the semi-final on July 15 in Atlanta has a top ticket price of $10,635.
In addition to the final and semi-finals, tickets for the opening match and group-stage matches involving the United States have also drawn attention. The highest ticket prices for these matches are all above $2,700, making it a costly experience for ordinary fans who wish to watch the games live.
Official Resale Platform Prices Are Even More Extreme
Compared with the original official ticket prices, the resale market appears even more inflated.
On the official resale platform, World Cup final tickets are listed for prices ranging from $8,970 to tens of millions of dollars. There were even previous listings exceeding $2.29 million, while some upper-tier seats were also priced far beyond what many ordinary fans could afford.
It is worth noting that FIFA does not directly control pricing on the resale platform. However, it charges both buyers and sellers a 15% fee, which further increases the actual cost for fans purchasing tickets through resale.
