In the 4th round of the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund hosted Wolfsburg at home. Thanks to a brilliant long-range strike from Karim Adeyemi in the first half, Dortmund secured a 1–0 win and extended their winning streak to three matches.
Before this round, Dortmund had recorded two wins and one draw, while Wolfsburg stood at one win and two draws. Clearly, Wolfsburg’s form was weaker compared to Dortmund’s.
In the last two encounters between the two sides, Dortmund held a clear advantage, defeating Wolfsburg on both occasions.
On paper, Dortmund were also far superior; their squad’s total market value exceeded Wolfsburg’s by around €170 million. Unsurprisingly, more than 80% of fans expressed confidence that Dortmund would claim victory at home before kick-off.

Adeyemi Strikes Again, Proving to Be Dortmund’s Lucky Charm
In the 20th minute of the first half, Ryerson delivered a precise assist. Adeyemi, the 23-year-old German forward, carried the ball to the edge of the penalty arc and unleashed a stunning long-range shot, breaking the deadlock for the hosts.
This strike proved to be the only goal of the match, once again showcasing Adeyemi’s exceptional ability and decisive impact in crucial moments.
Notably, this was Adeyemi’s 23rd career goal, and Dortmund have remained unbeaten in all 23 matches in which he has scored, with 19 wins and four draws. This underlines his importance as a genuine talisman for the team.
In the 60th minute of the second half, former Manchester United player Christian Eriksen came off the bench, making his debut for Wolfsburg and also his first-ever Bundesliga appearance.
Ultimately, Dortmund’s victory secured their third straight league win. With 10 points, they now sit second in the table, just 2 points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Dortmund also dominated the match stats, with 56% possession and 12 total shots, clearly outperforming Wolfsburg.

Union Berlin Edge Frankfurt in 7-Goal Thriller
Elsewhere, Eintracht Frankfurt suffered a 4–3 home defeat against Union Berlin. Union opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Ansah’s long-range strike.
In the 32nd minute, Behrens doubled the visitors’ lead with a solo effort. Just before half-time, Braun pulled one back for Frankfurt.
In the second half, Behrens struck twice in quick succession in the 53rd and 56th minutes, completing his hat-trick. Frankfurt responded with goals from Uzun and Burkardt, closing the gap to 3–4, but they ultimately failed to complete the comeback. With this win, Union Berlin ended their losing streak.

Leverkusen Denied Late by Gladbach
In another match, Bayer Leverkusen hosted Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the 71st minute, Tilman calmly slotted home to give the hosts the lead.
However, in stoppage time, Haris Tabakovic headed in the equaliser for Gladbach, stealing a point at the death. The match ended in a 1–1 draw, with both sides sharing the spoils.
