Paris Saint-Germain won 6-0 away at Villarreal on 4 November in matchday 4 of the 2026-27 Champions League league phase, scoring four times inside the opening 17 minutes to end the contest as a contest well before the break.
Joao Neves opened the scoring with a close-range finish in the ninth minute. Akliouche then set up Doue to make it 2-0 after Villarreal gave the ball away in their own half, and Mayulu added a third from inside the box a minute later.
Fabian Ruiz struck from inside the area in the 17th minute to put Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 up, completing a devastating opening quarter of an hour that manager Luis Enrique said changed the entire shape of the game.

Second half sealed by Fabian Ruiz and a substitute
Fabian Ruiz completed his brace five minutes into the second half, nutmegging the goalkeeper to make it 5-0. Substitute David Boli then sealed the result in the 78th minute, giving Paris Saint-Germain their sixth goal of the evening.
Paris Saint-Germain made their first changes in the 60th minute, bringing on Hotze and Ferran Torres. A second wave of substitutions in the 75th minute introduced Quentin Nziaмtu, David Boli and Lucas Beraldo.
Akliouche finished the match with two assists, while Joao Neves was involved in an injury scare in the 38th minute after being caught on the lower leg, though he continued.

Enrique on the substitution incident and the knockout rounds
Manager Luis Enrique said after the match that he does not enjoy such scorelines, but that his side’s approach is to keep playing the same way regardless of the score. He said the opening 15 minutes, in which Paris Saint-Germain scored three times, changed the entire shape of the game.
Enrique singled out Mayulu, who had limited playing time early in the season and was left out of the squad on one occasion, as an example of the squad’s collective mentality. He said the same applied to Quentin Nziaмtu, David Boli, Beraldo and others who had trained at high intensity while waiting for their chance.
On the substitution incident late in the game, Enrique was blunt. He said the situation was absurd and that the rules need to cover such cases clearly, adding that he always respects the referee but that what happened was unacceptable.
Enrique noted that Paris Saint-Germain have now scored 20 goals in four Champions League matches this season, but said those numbers carry little weight. He said the real test will come in the knockout rounds in February or March, and that reaching the final in Madrid is the only target that counts.
