2026 FIFA World Cup tickets are already in hot demand. FIFA announced on October 16 that more than one million tickets have been sold since the first sales phase began on September 10, setting a new record for early ticket sales in the tournament’s history.
Fans From 212 Countries Already on Board
Although only 28 of the 48 participating nations have officially qualified, that hasn’t stopped football fans around the world from securing their seats. According to FIFA, ticket buyers come from 212 countries and regions.

Unsurprisingly, the highest demand has come from the three host nations, the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They’re followed by the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and France, highlighting the tournament’s massive global appeal.
“This response is truly fantastic,” said Gianni Infantino, FIFA President. “It shows how the largest and most inclusive World Cup in history is capturing the imagination of fans from every corner of the globe.”
Multiple Phases of Ticket Sales

FIFA has structured ticket sales in several stages to give as many fans as possible the chance to attend:
- Phase 1 – The initial ticket draw opened on September 10 and has now closed.
- Phase 2 – Starting October 27, fans can apply for tickets to all 104 matches, including single-match tickets, stadium packages, and team-specific packages.
- Final Sales Phase – As the tournament approaches, any remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fans who missed out during the first round or wish to buy additional tickets will still have multiple opportunities to secure their spots.
The Biggest World Cup in History

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be unlike any other. For the first time, the tournament will feature 48 national teams, playing across 16 host cities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. A total of 104 matches will be played from June to July 2026, making it the largest edition of the World Cup ever staged.
Beyond the action on the pitch, the tournament promises to be a cultural festival, uniting fans from around the world through sport, music, and celebration.
