The deal reportedly does not include a purchase option.

Negotiations between the two clubs have reached the final stages, and the deal is expected to be finalized this week.

According to British media, Manchester United will cover part of Antony’s wages during the loan period, with the Brazilian currently earning £200,000 per week.

Manchester United signed Antony from Ajax

Antony was signed by Erik ten Hag during his tenure as Manchester United manager, with the club paying a hefty fee to bring him in from Ajax.

However, the winger has failed to live up to expectations.

Statistics from Whoscored reveal that since joining Manchester United, Antony has made 61 Premier League appearances, registering just five goals and three assists.

Antony is no longer part of Manchester United’s future plans

Notably, his direct goal contributions are fewer than the 10 yellow cards he has accumulated.

Following Ten Hag’s departure, Manchester United has started offloading players who do not fit into the club’s future plans.

Antony has lost his place in the team this season

So far this season, Antony has not started a single Premier League match and has only made seven appearances as a substitute.

A Fresh Start for Antony in La Liga

With his struggles at Manchester United, this loan move to Real Betis presents Antony with a vital opportunity to revive his career. Playing in a new league under a different system could help him rediscover the form that once made him one of Europe’s most promising wingers. If he impresses in La Liga, it could either earn him a fresh start at United or attract permanent offers from other top European clubs.
