Arsenal Dominate Possession and Attack from the Start

From the outset, Arsenal exerted control over the game. New signing Norgaard made his debut in the starting lineup and quickly integrated into the team’s system. He was particularly active on the left flank, constantly creating opportunities for his teammates to capitalize on.

In the 22nd minute, Norgaard delivered a precise low cross from the left, which fell to young talent Ethan Nwaneri. His powerful first-time shot narrowly missed the target, drawing gasps from the crowd and forcing a nervous reaction from Milan keeper Terracciano.

Throughout the first half, Arsenal dominated in terms of possession and offensive pressure, leading 11-2 in shots, a clear indicator of their superiority.

In contrast, AC Milan struggled to find rhythm in the final third. Although Rafael Leao produced a brilliant solo run in the 27th minute, Arsenal defenders, led by William Saliba, kept things tight and effectively neutralized any threat.

By halftime, Milan had yet to register a single shot on target, exposing their issues in attacking organization.

Saka Breaks the Deadlock as Gunners Keep Up the Pressure

After the break, Arsenal continued to press high and maintain their attacking tempo. Their efforts paid off in the 53rd minute when Jakub Kiwior burst down the left and sent in a pinpoint cross. Saka timed his run perfectly, arriving at the near post to tap the ball into the net with ease. The stadium erupted as Saka celebrated in front of the cheering fans.

Rather than sitting on their lead, the Gunners pushed forward even harder. Milan’s resilient defence and goalkeeper Terracciano repeatedly denied Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, and Reiss Nelson their chances to extend the lead.

By full-time, Arsenal had racked up 23 shots, several on target, while Milan managed just one shot on goal the entire match, highlighting the disparity in form and preparation between the two sides.
