Arsenal Football Club has officially announced the signing of Spanish international goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, securing the 30-year-old on a three-year contract. The North London club activated Kepa’s release clause, paying a reported £5 million (approximately RM29 million) to complete the deal. Kepa will wear the number 13 shirt for Arsenal in the 2025/26 season.

Kepa arrives at the Emirates Stadium with considerable experience at the top level of European football. He originally joined Chelsea in 2018 from Athletic Bilbao for a then world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper, valued at £71.6 million. Over his time at Stamford Bridge, Kepa made 163 appearances in all competitions and contributed to some of the club’s most successful periods in recent years.

During his Chelsea career, he helped the team win several major trophies, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. His performances across multiple seasons, particularly in European competitions, highlighted his shot-stopping ability and calm presence in high-pressure situations.

In the past two seasons, Kepa spent time away from Chelsea on loan, gaining more first-team action. In the 2023/24 season, he joined Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid on loan, where he collected another Champions League title and a Spanish Super Cup. The following season (2024/25), he moved to Bournemouth in the Premier League, where he made 35 appearances and kept 9 clean sheets, earning recognition for his consistency and leadership.
