In Matchweek 27 of the Premier League, Arsenal delivered a dominant performance on the road, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4–1 and once again taking all three points at their rivals’ home ground.

The victory not only strengthened the Gunners’ position at the top of the table but also intensified Spurs’ relegation concerns.

From the opening whistle, Arsenal showed greater composure and control. They enjoyed 60.6% possession and outshot Tottenham 20-6, dictating the tempo and executing smooth transitions between defense and attack.

In the 32nd minute, Eze opened the scoring with a stunning volley inside the box. However, just two minutes later, Muani capitalized on an opportunity to equalize quickly, sending the teams into halftime level at 1–1.

Gyökeres Scores Twice in the Second Half

After the break, the momentum shifted completely in Arsenal’s favor. Gyökeres netted twice in the second half, demonstrating sharp instincts and clinical finishing in front of goal. Eze added another goal in the 61st minute to seal the victory.

In the end, Arsenal secured a convincing 4–1 win, completing a league double over Tottenham this season.

Historic Victory and Statistical Dominance

Notably, this was Arsenal’s biggest away league win over Spurs since their 5–0 triumph in December 1978. It also marked only the second time since the 1934/35 season that Arsenal have beaten the same opponent by three or more goals twice in a single campaign.

Having won the first meeting 4–1 as well, the Gunners outscored Tottenham 8–2 on aggregate across both fixtures.

Eze Emerges as a “Derby Specialist”

Eze was undoubtedly the standout performer. With five goals in North London derbies, he has drawn level with club legends Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie, trailing only Robert Pirès (7 goals) and Emmanuel Adebayor (6 goals) in the club’s derby scoring chart. Even more remarkably, Eze scored five goals in two matches against Spurs this season, accounting for 83.3% of his total six league goals.

Against other opponents, he has managed just one goal in 20 appearances, making Tottenham the team he has scored against most in his career.

With this win, Arsenal have now claimed five consecutive Premier League victories in North London derbies and lead Manchester City by five points, though they have played one more match.

Coupled with last season’s double over Spurs, the Gunners have achieved back-to-back league doubles against their rivals for the first time in the Premier League era, something last accomplished in the 1987/88 and 1988/89 seasons.

Spurs in Deep Trouble

In contrast, Tottenham’s situation continues to worsen. After West Ham picked up a point this round, Spurs’ gap from the relegation zone has narrowed to just four points.

The team is now winless in nine consecutive league matches, marking their longest such run in a single season since November 2007. Without a swift turnaround, the threat of relegation could become a serious reality.

Liverpool’s Dramatic Stoppage-Time Winner

In another key fixture, Liverpool secured a dramatic 1–0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the 97th minute, courtesy of a rebound finish from Alexis Mac Allister. The win extended Liverpool’s run to three consecutive victories in all competitions. They now sit on 45 points, level with fourth-placed Chelsea.

Following this round, both the title race and the relegation battle have intensified as the Premier League season enters a truly decisive, high-pressure phase.
