In a clash between two European giants, Paris Saint-Germain stunned the football world with a dominant 4-0 victory over Real Madrid, leaving no room for doubt in this Club World Cup semifinal!
In the 2025 Club World Cup semifinal, PSG stormed past Real Madrid thanks to a brace from Fabián Ruiz and a goal and assist from Ousmane Dembélé, securing their place in the final in emphatic fashion.
This was Kylian Mbappé’s first time facing his former club since transferring to Real Madrid last summer. Still, the French star struggled throughout the match, failing to score or assist, as his new team suffered a heavy defeat.

One Step Away from a Historic Fifth Title
Having already won the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions this season, PSG is now just one step away from clinching its fifth major title.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid, widely regarded as the most successful team in Club World Cup history with five titles, suffered their first-ever defeat in the competition, in a result that shocked many.
From the opening whistle, PSG unleashed relentless pressure on Madrid. In the 6th minute, Dembélé took advantage of Asensio’s poor clearance, intercepted the ball, and calmly squared it to Fabián Ruiz, who scored into an empty net for a thrilling 1-0 start.
Within just 10 minutes, the Ligue 1 giants had already breached Real Madrid’s defense twice, completely disrupting their tactical setup.

Madrid Collapse: Two Goals in Three Minutes
Just minutes later, in the 9th minute, Antonio Rüdiger attempted a sliding tackle on Dembélé. Still, the French winger broke free onside and calmly finished to double PSG’s lead. Two goals in just three minutes exposed the defensive cracks in Madrid’s backline.
PSG Dominates First Half
In the 24th minute, PSG launched another devastating counterattack. A series of crisp passes ended with Achraf Hakimi delivering a perfect cross from the right, and Fabián Ruiz swept home his second goal of the night. By halftime, PSG was in complete control with a commanding 3-0 lead.
The second half resumed with PSG nearly adding a fourth. In the 47th minute, Dembélé delivered a superb through ball to Warren Zaïre-Emery, who finished with composure, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Despite their comfortable lead, coach Luis Enrique made key substitutions, including resting standout performers like Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in preparation for the final.

PSG Secure Historic Final Spot with 4-0 Rout
Real Madrid, trailing by three, struggled to mount a significant threat and remained defensively vulnerable. In the 88th minute, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma launched a long ball forward, which Barcola collected and danced through Madrid’s defense before setting up Gonçalo Ramos for a simple finish.
Ramos dedicated the goal to his late Portugal teammate Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away in a car accident.
With this resounding 4-0 win, Paris Saint-Germain marched into their first-ever Club World Cup final.

Showdown with Chelsea Awaits
PSG will face Premier League giants Chelsea in the final on July 13. The French champions have already secured four major trophies this season. If they go on to win both the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, PSG could finish the year with a staggering seven titles, cementing their place in football history.
