Real Madrid Urgently Need Reinforcements: Vinícius Renewal Stalls As Galácticos Face A Rebuild Turning Point

In the current La Liga season, Real Madrid trail Barcelona by four points and have suffered defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, making their title ambitions increasingly uncertain.

As a result, Real Madrid’s senior management is eager to strengthen the squad and build a new generation of Galácticos.

At present, the club has identified three key positions in urgent need of reinforcement: a playmaking midfielder, a forward, and a central defender.

Vinícius Renewal Deadlock Brings Sale Window Closer

According to the latest report from Spanish media outlet Cadena SER, contract renewal talks between Real Madrid and Vinícius have reached an impasse.

Vinícius’ current contract runs until the summer of 2027, which makes next summer the optimal time for Real Madrid to consider selling the Brazilian winger.

Real Madrid Take a Firm Stance, No Free Transfer Exit for Core Star

Should Real Madrid fail to reach a renewal agreement with Vinícius, the club will not allow him to leave on a free transfer once his contract expires. At present, Real Madrid values Vinícius at around €100 million, while his market value is estimated at €150 million.

Real Madrid Identifies Two Major Transfer Targets

It has been reported that Real Madrid plan to sell Vinícius to fund the signing of a new €100 million-plus star. Currently, the club has two main options under consideration.

Vitinha is the Top Midfield Target, but the Deal Remains Highly Complex

The first target is Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield mainstay Vitinha, who is valued at €110 million. PSG regards him as a non-transferable asset, and he is under contract until 2030.

However, there is said to be a private agreement between Vitinha and PSG, whereby the club would consider letting him leave if an offer of €100 million is received and the player expresses a desire to depart.

At present, Vitinha is enjoying a successful spell in Paris, having won six trophies and established himself as the tactical core of the team under head coach Luis Enrique. Given his status and comfort at the club, he has little reason to seek a move.

Haaland, the Ultimate Striker Target

The second target is Erling Haaland. Real Madrid hopes to sign a suitable No. 9, allowing Kylian Mbappé to return to his preferred position on the left wing. Haaland is currently valued at €200 million, making him one of the most expensive players in world football.

With a weekly wage of £525,000 at Manchester City and a contract running until 2034, combined with a strong relationship with manager Pep Guardiola, Haaland has no immediate incentive to leave.

As a result, even if Real Madrid successfully sells Vinícius and generates substantial funds, signing either Vitinha or Haaland would remain extremely difficult.

Clear Rebuild Vision, but Challenges Lie Ahead

Overall, Real Madrid’s rebuilding direction is clear, but the real challenge lies in execution. Whether it is Vitinha or Haaland, both transfers face significant obstacles.

Over the following season, the decisions made by Real Madrid’s management could directly determine whether the Galácticos can complete their transition and return to the summit of European football.
