Endrick Seeks a Breakthrough with Lyon on Loan, Origi Bids Farewell to Milan

UFOOTBALL Endrick signs loan deal with Olympique Lyon

At just 19 years old, Brazilian prodigy Endrick is set to temporarily leave the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to media reports, Real Madrid and Lyon have reached an agreement over a loan move, with Endrick joining the Ligue 1 side until June 30, 2026.

The loan deal does not include any purchase option, underlining that Real Madrid still consider him a key part of their long-term plans. Once the loan period ends, he is expected to return to Madrid as scheduled.

Ligue 1 Move Seen as a Crucial Turning Point

This transfer is widely viewed as an important turning point in Endrick’s career. He hopes that strong performances in Ligue 1 will help him earn a place in Brazil’s squad for next year’s World Cup.

Rising Star: From Palmeiras to Real Madrid

Looking back at Endrick’s rise, he joined Real Madrid at the age of 17 after emerging from Brazilian powerhouse Palmeiras. So far, he has made 40 appearances for Madrid’s first team across all competitions, scoring seven goals.

While the numbers may not be eye-catching, considering his age and the intense competition within the squad, he is still regarded as a player with enormous potential.

However, this season under head coach Alonso, Endrick has found opportunities hard to come by. He has featured only three times, with just one start, totaling 99 minutes without a goal.

As a result, he missed out on Brazil’s October and November friendly squads, casting some uncertainty over his World Cup prospects.

Wearing Lyon’s No. 9 Shirt, a New Chapter Begins

It is reported that Endrick will wear Lyon’s No. 9 shirt in the second half of the season and is set to officially join the first team’s training sessions next week.

AC Milan Terminate Contract with Origi

Meanwhile, Italian giants AC Milan have also confirmed a squad change in recent days. The club announced that, by mutual agreement, they have officially terminated the contract of Belgian forward Divock Origi.

In the summer of 2022, Origi joined Milan on a free transfer after his contract with Liverpool expired, signing a four-year deal.

However, in his first season with the Rossoneri, he made 36 appearances, scoring only two goals and providing one assist, well below expectations.

Premier League Loan Fails to Revive Form

In the summer of 2023, Milan loaned Origi to Premier League side Nottingham Forest in the hope he could rediscover his form. Yet his performances in England remained disappointing.

After returning to San Siro, he was gradually marginalized, eventually being demoted to Milan’s reserve squad and no longer featuring in official matches.

Different Choices, the Same Harsh Reality

Overall, whether it is Endrick leaving Real Madrid temporarily to seek growth in Ligue 1 or Origi parting ways with AC Milan earlier than expected, both stories reflect the harsh realities of professional football.

For the young Endrick, this loan spell represents both a challenge and an opportunity to prove he remains one of the most exciting prospects in world football. For Origi, the end of his Milan chapter may signal a fresh start elsewhere, where their path will lead next remains to be seen.
