According to foreign media reports, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is planning to replicate the approach it used to sign Neymar by launching a major transfer bid for Real Madrid’s key player, Vinícius Júnior. If negotiations go smoothly, the transfer fee could exceed €200 million.

At the same time, Real Madrid is also exploring a significant move of its own, targeting Manchester City’s “Ballon d’Or winner” Rodri, though the deal is expected to be challenging.

PSG Eyes Vinícius for Another Record-Breaking Transfer

Back in 2017, PSG paid Neymar’s €222 million release clause to sign him from Barcelona, setting a record transfer fee that remains unbroken to this day. However, Neymar’s time at PSG fell short of expectations. He later moved to the Saudi Pro League and is currently playing in Brazil as his career enters its twilight years.

Despite winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history last season, PSG’s management knows it must continue to strengthen the squad to stay competitive. A new round of big signings has already been set in motion.

Reports suggest PSG has made Brazilian star Vinícius Júnior its top target. Last year’s Ballon d’Or winner has delivered outstanding performances and is now one of the most sought-after players in world football.

Vinícius Júnior still has two years remaining on his contract with Real Madrid, but salary negotiations between the two parties have reportedly stalled. If they fail to reach an agreement, Vinícius could leave as early as next summer.

PSG is closely monitoring Vinícius’ situation and will move aggressively if he becomes available on the transfer market. PSG believes its financial strength will be the decisive factor in sealing the deal and is prepared to offer a lucrative contract that would satisfy both Real Madrid and the player.

Real Madrid reportedly values Vinícius at around €200 million, a figure PSG is capable of meeting. The French club has been relatively conservative in the transfer market this summer, leaving them with plenty of funds for major signings. There’s even a real possibility that Vinícius’ transfer could surpass Neymar’s record-breaking fee.

Rodri Becomes Real Madrid’s Midfield Reinforcement Target

On the other hand, Real Madrid is planning to sign last year’s Ballon d’Or winner, Rodri. The Spanish midfielder helped Manchester City win the UEFA Champions League and guided Spain to a European Championship title, achievements that earned him the prestigious award over Vinícius.

Due to a serious injury, Rodri has missed most of the season but is gradually recovering. As a Ballon d’Or winner and a homegrown Spanish talent, he’s a desirable target for Real Madrid.

Sources say that if Rodri does not renew his contract with Manchester City, next summer would be the ideal time to make a move, with his transfer fee possibly under €100 million. Real Madrid’s midfield currently lacks depth, and Rodri could become the team’s central figure in that area, making the signing both tactical and strategic.
